We have been to clubs in Atlanta..other "group" parties..and a few house parties. And nothing compares to the fun we had at the last party. These people really go out of the way to make sure everyone is happy and content. And the after hours fun on the 4th floor was HOT. Would recommend this group to me "bestest" friends. Ya gotta put this on the to do listsmiling face

To narrate how we came to join the XANADU would take up unnecessary space. The majority of you reading this post probably know the feeling one has when one is first physically confronted with the Swinging Lifestyle, and will therefore understand what I am writing about. From the moment we hesitantly entered the foyer of the hotel on the afternoon of the XANADU Club's inauguration party, to the moment of our departure the next day, we were treated with so much warmth, kindness and above all, RESPECT!

What made our experience at the XANADU so special was that the old hands took so much trouble caring for, and making sure newbies (such as us) felt comfortable and at home during the entire time we spent at the XANADU.

This is a new club, and it does have its share of teething problems; these are relatively minor; but then, that's what makes the XANADU so endearing and so human! The general atmosphere (during orientation and familiarisation, during supper, during the dance and later on in the party area), was one of warm familiarity, such as one would encounter at a family reunion-. Hugs and Kisses all around!

Those serving as the President and the Executive Board, are not pushy, nor arrogant. They do not rule; they work unobtrusively behind the scenes, making sure that everything runs as smoothly as possible!

As far as I am concerned, the XANADU is not a club at all; it is a family whose members are not snobs, not boors, just PEOPLE- unassuming, gentle, friendly, and caring!

Could one ask for more?

I doubt it!

Subject: Our Reveiw of The Xanadu Club
quote post
#7
Well David & I FINALLY made the long overdue trip to The Xanadu Club in Greenville, SC and I must say we were pleasantly surprised! The hotel itself is a very nice hotel. Our room was great...it was very clean, the beds were comfortable & the AC worked GREAT!!! I did notice signs that the renovation was still underway but all in all the hotel stay was exceptional.

The Xanadu Club serves a full dinner before the party from 6-7 at the cost of $5 per person. Unfortunately due to a family obligation we were unable to make the dinner so I can't tell you personally how the food is but I heard rave reviews from everyone that attended the dinner.

Now..as far as the party goes...We had a BLAST!!! There were between 50 and 60 couples there and that was just about the perfect size! Everyone was so friendly! David (Mr. Antisocial Shy Guy) even said it was the most comfortable he has ever felt at a party and that says a lot. We were made to feel very welcome. The mix in age groups was a good fit. The music was a good mix with something for everyone, country, rock, line dances, hip hop, slow dances, a little of everything. The ballroom lighting was a little too dark when we first arrived but the staff of Xanadu was working to fix that and did! I can't really judge the decorations because the theme of Fantasies & Desires was one that is kinda hard to decorate for. The ballroom was cool enough and had plenty of air circulating so you didn't swelter. I will warn those of you that are non-smokers that the ballroom is a smoking ballroom but as a non smoker myself I can tell you that the ballroom is so well ventilated that it did not get smokey and it did not bother me at all. There is a non smoking section in the ballroom but to be honest I did not see one single person in it all night LOL.

The party closed down at midnight and moved up to the members only party floor, ,located on the 4th floor. There we found a fully stocked hospitality room with drinks, ice, loads of snacks, sweets & sandwich fixings! It was great to be able to grab a bite after the party. There was also a gentleman (and I do mean a GENTLEMAN) offering free massages to the ladies. He had his own massage table and of course..who am I to resist such an offer!! He did a very good job!! There's also a room that you can play a very fun & adult version of truth or dare. It seemed like everyone was having a ball (and possibly more in the rooms we didn't peek into!!).

In closing this review, David & I found The Xanadu Club staff very helpful & friendly, the club management was very open to suggestions from anyone who made them, the dj was very accommodating and it was just an all around wonderful club experience! David & I will definitely be attending more Xanadu parties in the future & we can't wait!!gringringringringringringringringringringringrin

We decided to check this club out after reading the reviews above and hearing from a few fans of this club, however, we were disappointed. Since then we found out that over half of the above reviews, the couples don't even go there any more.
The party we went to was supposed to have a Jello wrestling contest; it didn't happen. There weren't a lot of people there in the afternoon and we hoped it would improve for the evening.

We figure there were about 25-30 couples at the party, a little slow. The ballroom is open to smokers and non and as non-smokers, we really didn't care for this. They had several air machines around, but where we were, it was pretty smoky still.

We did meet a nice couple that we have gotten together with since. We're going to try out other clubs and see if there is anything better.
